Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Tasks: Monitor and optimize chemical process for processing units. Operate electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room. Participate in training of other workers. Write production logs. Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting. Monitor outside process equipment. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance. Carry out statistical process control. Provide emergency response when required. Rotate between different petroleum, gas and chemical processing units during shift cycles. May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities. Authorize or co-sign maintenance work orders. Employment terms options: Shift. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
