Education: College/CEGEP. Medical radiologic technology/science - radiation therapist. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology/technician. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Operate X-ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Explain procedures, position patient and equipment and apply radiation protection measures. Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment. Record and process patient data. Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination. Train and supervise students and other staff. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication.
