Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Tasks: Set up, adjust and operate single-function machines to mix, drill, grind and cut concrete to specifications. Build and repair wooden frames used to mould concrete products. Check products for quality control. Move products using forklift, crane or hydraulic hoist. Position reinforcing rods or wire mesh in moulds. Fill moulds with concrete. Operate vibrating tables to settle concrete. Tamp concrete using electric vibrator. Remove castings from moulds. Finish surfaces of castings using screed or trowel. Cut cured concrete pipe sections with saw or chisel and cement sections together to form odd-shaped fittings. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
