Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Commercial facility. Retail/wholesale establishment/distribution centre. Level of expertise: Operator. Tasks: Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports. Assist during routine systems testing. Assist in locating and isolating system problems. Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures. Issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel. Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities. Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally. Operate automated or computerized control systems. Start up and shut down power plant equipment. Type of resources: Other hydrocarbons. Resource usage and environmental studies: Industrial waste treatment. Equipment and machinery experience: Chillers. Cooling tower. Electronic controls. Generators. Heat exchangers. High pressure boilers. Indicators. Meters. Pollution control.
