Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Construction site. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Instruct apprentices. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Supervise other workers. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Backflow prevention Certification. Plumber Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board¿(WSIB) clearance Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Level five apprenticeship training. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Security and safety: Bondable. Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Responsibilities
Tasks
