Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Calibre. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Boring machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Overtime required.
