The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations for a growing construction (civil earthworks and clearing) company with predominant operations in the RMWB?s Oil Sands Industry. The Operations Manager will ensure that all projects are completed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations as the top priority. The Operations Manager will also ensure that the required support is in place to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget. The candidate?s strong leadership, technical expertise and diligent communication skills will be crucial in successfully delivering projects to our clients? satisfaction. This position will report directly to Executive Team.
This position may require work outside of normal business hours.
The preferred shift is Monday to Friday, local to the RMWB.
*Roles and Responsibilities:*
* Promote safety-first culture, ensuring all operations adhere to company policy and the highest standard of safety standard.
* Work collaboratively with front-line leaders in a supportive and solutions-based mindset.
* Conduct regular operations meetings with the goal of operating as ?one-team? and support each one another as project demand dictates.
* Assist in responsible planning and execution of asset deployment, maintenance procedure and general support service allocation.
* Engage with all levels on safety initiatives and campaigns with pervasive influence on safe practice with all performing work either directly or indirectly throughout company operations.
* Engage in initial project evaluation meetings and taking all necessary steps to ensure responsible decisions are made to allow company to be successful through to project completion.
* Engage in estimation of projects with other team-members to ensure smooth transition in all estimation, planning and execution phases.
* Continue and develop strong relationships with clients, partners, and community leaders to uphold company?s strong reputation.
* Engage with execution improvement working group to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiencies.
* Take part in strategy development meetings and initiatives to maintain client satisfaction and operational efficiencies.
* Review project progress and productivity reports with site leaders and make suggestions to improve efficiency/performance where necessary.
* Review all production progress and productivity reports.
* Explore new potential business opportunities with the best interest of the company in mind.
* Engage with company indirect support service to ensure all required assets, maintenance, repairs and transportation needs are performed diligently and efficiently.
* Become familiar with current and future service agreements with clients and manage effectively.
* Provide semi-monthly reporting to senior leadership, highlighting KPI?s, operations updates and strategic initiatives.
*Competencies/Certification:*
* Post-secondary degree / diploma in a related field an asset.
* Experience utilizing InEight (Hard Dollar) an asset.
* Experience utilizing Pimavera P6 an asset.
* Proficient with Microsoft office applications.
* Experience with and willingness to learn evolving internal software applications.
* Possess a minimum Class 5 valid driver's license.
* Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
* Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
*Experience: *
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years' supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training, collaboration and general supervisory skills.
