<p>District School Board of Niagara<p>GROUNDS TECHNICIAN SUMMER STUDENTSRate of pay: $15.50 per hour<p>Applications due: Friday, May 3, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.DSBN is looking for Post-Secondary students and recent secondary school graduates to provide professional landscaping services for our entire group of facilities. The Grounds Technicians Summer Students will be responsible for performing ongoing landscaping tasks, as well as routine maintenance of all landscaping equipment. We have several gardens and grassy areas on our many properties that require regular maintenance. If you have experience in landscaping and a strong attention to detail, you may be the perfect fit for this job.<p>The successful candidates will be responsible for: Mowing lawns, pruning bushes and trees, edging walkways and providing a professionally manicured look to the grounds.<p> Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the property services supervisor.<p> Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools. Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma/GED required, must be attending post-secondary studies<p> 2+ years grounds keeping experience<p> A certification or working toward certification in horticulture or landscaping would be preferred<p> Experience operating various pieces of equipment including a zero-turn lawn mower, weed eater and chainsaw is an asset<p> Must be a reliable worker who is able to perform routine tasks with little supervision<p> Strong attention to detail required<p> Must have valid G license, experience towing a trailer is an asset <p>This is a temporary summer position (Mid-May to August 31, 2024).<p> Applications including a resume and three professional references must be submitted via Apply to Education - Job Code #3727426 before 4:00 p.m. on Friday April 26, 2024.
