2023/2024 LTS 150 <p>Educational Assistant - Long Term Assignment <p>St. Elizabeth CES,Bowmanville <p>17.5 hours per week (PM) <p>Immediately to return of employee <p>Applications can be done at home or from outside the school at www.applytoeducation.com no later than 12:00 p.m. on the closing date outlined above.<p>Job Function: <p>Assist in the accessing of instructional programs. Assist with the personal and hygienic care of students. Administer medication as assigned. Carry out assigned therapeutic, behavioural management or training programs. Assist with student activities and supervision. Assist with the collection of relevant data for the purposes of tracking student progress and behaviour.Job Description: <p>1.Assist in the development, implementation and tracking of instructional programs.<p>2.Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and equipment as directed.<p>3.Assist students with hygienic and personal care such as toileting, catheterizing, life skills, etc.<p>4.Administer medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations; AP-HS-401 Administration of Medication and/or Special Services.<p>5.Assist in occupational, physio, speech and other therapy or behavioural programs as directed.<p>6.Carry out the Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) and Co-op Education, job training, safety programs, etc., as assigned.<p>7.Assist with the supervision of in-school and out-of-school student activities.<p>8.Participate in Identification, Placement and Review Committee (I.P.R.C.) Meetings, case conferences, etc. when required.<p>9.Assist with the loading and unloading of school buses or taxis as directed and the monitoring of the as needed.<p>Job Requirements: 1. Requires O.S.S.D., plus two years of specialized training, i.e., Educational Assistant Program, Child Youth Worker, Autism Support Worker or equivalent. Requires knowledge of strategies and experience supporting students.<p>2. Requires knowledge of pertinent Board policies and directives such as Physical Intervention, Discipline, Administration of Medication and/or Special Services.3. Requires operating audio-visual and office equipment such as computers, (Google Suite), projectors, photocopier, etc. and knowledge in the operation of equipment such as wheelchair, parapodium, walkers, etc.<p>4. Requires performing physical duties such as lifting and positioning students. May also include implementation of Behaviour Management Systems physical intervention strategies.<p>5. Requires communicating effectively and working co-operatively with students, teachers, administration, Board personnel, parents, community agencies and organizations.
