*Job Summary*
The BST Transportation Group is looking for a highly skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for reviewing and processing a high volume of vendor invoices and owner operator payments on a timely basis and with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. This position provides the opportunity to develop valuable skills such as communications, problem solving and maintaining positive relationships with vendors. The Accounts Payable Clerk must be resourceful, enthusiastic, team oriented and have strong interpersonal skills.
*Responsibilities*
* Review and match invoices with purchase orders.
* Record, code and validate employee expense reports, vendor invoices, intercompany invoices and cheque requisitions.
* Ensure purchase orders and invoices are approved at the correct approval level.
* Ability to process large volume of paperwork through system on regular basis with accuracy
* Reconcile vendor accounts and corporate credit card statements.
* Process semi-monthly payroll and payment to drivers.
* Follow up on invoice and payment discrepancies, respond to internal and external accounts payable inquiries in a timely manner.
* Work closely with accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of month end duties including accruing for expenses and providing support for the reconciliation of AP and driver payroll accounts.
* Timely filing of records and support documentation.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
* Post-secondary education in related discipline (Accounting, Business, Finance) preferred.
* 6 months of Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong computer and technical skills, and experience using various financial and operational systems
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically, Excel (advanced) and other Microsoft Office applications.
* Understanding of basic accounting principles and tax compliance.
* Proven self-starter with strong work ethic, organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities and time management skills. Ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a high attention to details.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; know your audience and communicate accordingly.
* Able to work independently as well as in a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
* Experience working in the transportation industry is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
