Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: General office. Tasks: Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Collect samples of materials for analysis. Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Manage training and development strategies. Develop and implement health and safety plans. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Oversee the preparation of reports. Respond to employee questions and complaints. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs. Inspect products and processing methods; prepare reports and ensure that regulations governing health, quality and safety are followed. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. MS Windows. MS Excel. MS PowerPoint. MS Word. Tablet computer. Electronic mail.
