Overview:
Flightpath Charter Airways is seeking an experienced and visionary individual to join our team as the Director of Flight Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety Management: Oversee and monitor our safety management system (SMS) to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, with a focus on maintaining the highest levels of safety for passengers and crew.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulations, company policies, and industry standards across all flight operations.
* Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to flight operations personnel, including pilots, flight dispatchers, and ground staff, to ensure seamless and efficient flight operations.
* Flight Co-ordination: oversight-strong knowledge of aircraft performance, limitations and flight planning.
* Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and proficiency of flight operations staff, including recurrent training, safety seminars, and professional development initiatives.
* Fleet Management: Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the airworthiness and reliability of the fleet, including aircraft maintenance scheduling, inspections, and upgrades.
* Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of flight operations, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans to effectively manage and mitigate operational disruptions or crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.
* Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, airport authorities, vendors, and other industry stakeholders to support operational objectives and foster a collaborative working environment.
* Budget Management: Develop and manage the flight operations budget, including resource allocation, cost control measures, and financial forecasting, to ensure the efficient use of resources and achievement of financial targets.
Qualifications:
* Experience in aviation management, aerospace engineering, business administration, or related field.
* Holder of an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or equivalent, with extensive experience in commercial aviation operations, preferably in a leadership role.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in flight operations management, with a strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry best practices.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
* Proficiency in aviation software and systems, such as flight planning software, aircraft performance tools, and safety management systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational requirements in a fast-paced environment.
