Qualified Tradesperson Carpenter (Temporary Position) <p>A challenging opportunity exists with S.D. No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha) in a position as a Temporary QT Carpenter. This position works 40 hours per week. Initial hours of work are 7:00 am until 3:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak. Successful candidates are subject to the terms of the Criminal Review Act. <p>The rate of pay for this position is $36.64 per hour (as per the CUPE collective agreement).<p> Position start date and end date: As soon as possible - until the return of the incumbent <p>The successful candidate should possess: completion of grade 12 <p> certification as a journeyman as set out in the B.C. Industry Training Authority Act for Carpentry or equivalent Inter-Provincial Technical Qualifications working knowledge of other trades connected with building, finishing and maintenance <p> good working knowledge of the British Columbia and National Building Codes <p> demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals <p> demonstrated ability to work alone and work as part of a team with other tradespersons <p> demonstrated ability to take direction and carry out assigned duties independently <p> ability to perform heavy physical activity <p> 3 years recent experience <p> good organizational skills <p> valid Class 5 BC Driver's License <p> safe driving record (current driver's abstract required) <p> working knowledge of the operation and service of equipment used <p> demonstrated ability to read, write and follow directions <p> demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff and others <p> demonstrated ability to deal with staff, students and others <p> physical ability to perform all aspects of the job <p> such other /education/experience that is required for specific jobs Interested candidates are invited to apply by submitting a resume and Support Services Application via email.
