Posting Number: T24-176<p>Date Issued: May 15, 2024 POSITION <p>Worksite: Robertson Elementary School<p>Contract Type: Continuing, Full-Time<p>Assignment Area(s): Primary Kindergarten <p>Salary Range: 57,972 to 106,217 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)<p>Effective Date: September 1, 2024<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position in September may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: May 24, 2024 12:00 pm<p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment at the Primary level Kindergarten <p>knowledge of and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to the early primary program Kindergarten<p>relevant training and experience in teaching Kindergarten or early Primary<p>knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of children<p>a demonstrated ability and a commitment to embed the Learning Standards in a play-based curriculum conducive to the social/emotional, academic and physical development of young learners<p>demonstrated ability to select, modify or adapt instructional materials to meet the individual academic, social/emotional, and behavioural needs of students<p>experience, training in, and a willingness to carry out the District Early Intervention Screens such as the KLST (Kindergarten Language Screening Test) Assessment Snapshot Tools<p>the ability to utilize a variety of assessment processes that effectively allow students to show what they know (assessment for, as, of learning), and allow the teacher to plan for/adjust instruction to meet the collective and individual learning needs of students<p>familiarity with, and a proven ability to utilize a wide variety of literacy strategies with young learners including, but not limited to, oral language programs such as Moe the Mouse and Talking Tables and a balanced literacy program to promote reading readiness and early writing skills <p>demonstrated knowledge of and experience with applying effective strategies to support the development of literacy skills; preference will be given to individuals with successful experience with balanced literacy, Guided Reading and Daily 5 strategies<p>demonstrated knowledge of and successful experience with applying effective strategies to support the development of numeracy skills, including use of SNAP, small group instruction and intervention<p>demonstrated knowledge, experience and willingness to teach self-regulation strategies and mindfulness to support the social/emotional needs of the primary student<p>knowledge, experience and willingness to support the Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement goals<p>commitment to working with colleagues in an open, accepting manner in order to promote a strong and caring professional learning community<p>willingness to implement the goals of our school plan: high level achievement in literacy and numeracy; apply critical, creative and reflective thinking; enhance personal and social responsibilityFor Further Information Contact: Janine McCurdy, Principal or Troy Gibbs, Vice Principal (604) 795-5312
