We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual with social work or other family work credentials to join our school division as a Family/Student outreach counsellor. In this role, you will work at 0.7 FTE to provide support to our outreach students and their families, facilitating their journey towards success and achievement.<p>Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff to identify and address the unique needs of outreach students.<p> Provide individual and group counseling to students to support their social, emotional, and academic development.<p> Conduct assessments to determine the needs and strengths of students and families, and develop personalized intervention plans.<p> Assist families in accessing community resources and services to enhance their well-being and stability.<p> Coordinate with external agencies and organizations to support the holistic development of students and families.<p> Advocate for the needs of outreach students within the school setting and beyond.<p> Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, family studies, counseling, or related field.<p> Relevant experience working with students and families in a school or community setting.<p> Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, and counseling techniques.<p> Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students and families.<p> Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.<p> Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in supporting the needs of all students and families.If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of outreach students and families, and dedicated to helping them reach their full potential, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity as our Family/Student outreach counselor.- LocationRed Deer, AB
