Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Private ambulance company. Tasks: Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment. Supervise emergency technicians and attendants. Train emergency technicians and attendants. Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients. Transport patients to hospital or other medical facility for further medical care. Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided. Assist hospital personnel with provision of medical treatment, if necessary. Maintain ambulances and emergency care equipment and supplies. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles and buses with fewer than 24 passengers). Security and safety: Enhanced reliability security clearance. Criminal record check. Immunization records. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Driver's abstract.
