We are looking for a positive person who will bring a passion for excellence and commitment to their work to join us, as we continue to strive to provide full design/build services for the most ambitious projects. This role is for a full-time Mechanical Engineer/EIT working out of our Kelowna or Vancouver branch location. We are seeking a person who can easily multi-task, manage deadlines, has a high attention to detail. Duties to include, but not limited to: * Preparing geothermal/HVAC system designs from concept to completion. * Performing load calculations using conventional software. * Performing drafting duties in CADD software (AutoCad, Revit, Bluebeam, etc.). * Ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications. * Maintaining and advancing knowledge base (emerging technologies, design approaches, etc.) to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions. * Aligning and enforcing technical quality for all your deliverables. * Participating in advancing the standards and operations of the mechanical group. * Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure quality and consistency across projects. * Performing field/documentation reviews to ensure conformance with design and QA/QC standards. * Managing your workload to meet deadlines. * Interfacing with clients, contractors, and consultants, as required. * Provide general technical support to the Sales and Operations departments. * Traveling out-of-town for site visits/meetings. Capabilities and Credentials * Registered as P.Eng./EIT in British Columbia. * Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, and heat load calculation software. * Energy modeling certification or accreditation. * General understanding of all phases of project development and construction. * Thorough understanding of mechanical/HVAC systems, concepts, materials, and industry standards. * Knowledge and application of applicable building codes and applicable building and energy codes. * Ability to effectively communicate ideas to others. * Strong work ethic guided by integrity and mutual respect. * Ability to read construction drawings. * Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised. * Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness. * Ability to participate and collaborate in a team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. * Advanced oral and written communication skills. * Valid driver?s license. Education and Experience * Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. * Minimum of 5 years of experience.
