<p>RQ11034 - Sr. Applications Architect</p> <p>6-month contract (120 business days) - possibel extension</p> <p>ONSITE 5 days - 222 Jarvis St</p> <p><strong>Must Have:</strong></p> <ul><li>10+ years of progressive experience in IT architecture and system integration.</li><li>Strong application/data/ information architect</li><li><strong>Microsoft Azure</strong>: Expert in <strong>Azure architecture</strong>, including security, networking, identity, data services, and monitoring. </li><li><strong>Enterprise Integration:</strong> Skilled in<strong> API development, ESB, microservices architecture, and middleware technologies. </strong></li><li>Knowledgeable in <strong>cloud-based security practices</strong> and <strong>compliance protocols</strong> relevant to OPS.</li><li>Strong leadership abilities, with experience mentoring technical teams and influencing stakeholders across various levels.</li><li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree or certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect) are strongly preferred.</li></ul> <p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p> <ul><li>Prior OPS experience - Architecture exp (Preferred)</li></ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Applied to both the process and the outcome of thinking out and specifying the overall structure, logical components, and the logical interrelationships of a computer, its operating system, a network, or other conception. Defines the structure and relationship among applications, including the identification of re-usable components, quality level metrics, the organization and layering of software, and the determination of interfaces. Responsibilities also include developing, implementing and managing at least one cross-platform application in a large and distributed environment, monitor the whole system, understand all interactions between components on a given level of abstraction, as well as to define limitations and requirements for source code. Defines the interactions between application packages, databases and middleware systems.</p> <p><strong>General Skills </strong></p> <ul><li>Experience in the development and implementation of application architectures at the specified experience level </li><li>Extensive experience with at least two different computing platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, programming languages and communication protocols </li><li>Experience with middleware and gateways </li><li>Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments </li><li>Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications </li><li>Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments </li><li>Experience in the use of development tools, Computer Aided Software Engineering ( C A S E ) tools, information retrieval packages, and other software tools such as project management software and business re-engineering software</li><li> Experience in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools, including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries </li><li>Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) </li><li>Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions </li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills</li><li> A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable Skills:</strong></p> <ul><li>Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques </li><li>Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies, processes and practices </li><li>Knowledge and understa- Location Toronto, ON
