Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Process bills of lading, cargo manifests or other documents. Plan for required documentation and for pre- and post-distribution of documentation (itineraries, evaluations etc.). Follow emergency and safety procedures. Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Reliability.
